TOEFL Writing Tests
TOEFL Writing TestsA TOEFL writing test is probably the most common question on most peoples lips. It is just a standard examination, administered to international students to ensure they are English speakers. And like all examinations, it does have its pros and cons. In this article we will try to find out what is the best way to prepare for TOEFL writing tests.Firstly, you should begin with writing topics. This is essential as it gives your test a sense of direction and allows you to organize your essay. However, it must be remembered that there are some TOEFL writing topics which are very general in nature and will not be useful in writing a model essay. Most writers tend to shy away from these topics, as they tend to be less challenging and they do not give you much space to breathe.Once you have decided on a topic, you can now work on formatting your essay. Make sure you use a simple and clear style to allow you to easily keep track of your ideas. Do not try to cram your thought s into one page, rather break them down into sections that will allow you to move through them with ease. Keep your paragraphs short and simple, as this will help you come up with a clearer point to make your essay.Next, write your essay. Your TOEFL writing topics and model essay is not the same as other types of writing assignments, so you need to be sure that you structure your essay in a way that will best suit your purposes. For example, if you are writing about an extremely wide-ranging topic, it may be useful to create an outline. This will enable you to start writing from the outline and allow you to see how the parts of your essay will fit together. For your TOEFL writing topics and model essay, try to be as close to the outline as possible. However, make sure that it is clear enough for you to easily follow.Once you have had a chance to go over your TOEFL writing topics and model essay, you can now begin writing. There are two things you should remember about writing. The fi rst being that you should not get distracted by trying to think of clever ideas for each paragraph.Secondly, never forget to focus on the overall purpose of your essay. Know what the essay is trying to achieve, and ensure that it is presented in such a way that will allow you to effectively convey your message. By summarizing your essay you will make it easier for yourself to clearly see where you need to make changes. After you have finished all this hard work, it is time to sit down and take a look at your score on the exam. Although the scores on TOEFL writing tests are generally quite low, you will find that it is better to be at least slightly competitive than to sit it out until next year. Whether you get a passing grade or a failure grade, you will still have passed your TOEFL writing test.
